Explore Local Music and Art

Fremantle is overflowing with opportunities to view arts and craft produced by talented local artists. From dedicated arts festivals to special events and art galleries, Freo is a great place to visit if you’re looking to feature Australian artists in your collection.

Fremantle Arts Centre

More than a gallery, the Freo Arts Centre is home to exhibitions by local artists, workshops, artists-in-residence and open-air concerts in the walled garden. The building itself opened its doors in 1864 as the Convict Establishment Fremantle Lunatic Asylum & Invalid Depot. Over time it has been used as a Women’s Home, as a home for American naval servicemen during WW2, a technical school and now as an Arts Centre.

  • NIce, comfartable small hotel in central area On my way to Tasmania, made a stop at Fremantle for acupuple of days, nice small city, with harbour, market, prison etc

  • Lovely room with very nice straight touches The room was lovely and had great coffee making and extras like fruit and biscuits. Only issue was that I had early risers upstairs and it was a bit noisy but not the hotels fault! I enjoyed my stay.
